Patrick McIrish a question regarding touts/handicapping services

Wouldn`t you agree though Patrick that "dogball" could be the exception to the rule in regards to touts and him starting a service?

Whats your take on this Patrick?

I think he's actually got a life outside of posting on these forums 24/7 /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Journeyman - Sorry buddy, but yes I was away from the computer last day or two.

Wouldn`t you agree though Patrick that "dogball" could be the exception to the rule in regards to touts and him starting a service?

The exception to what rule? First trick in trying to instigate trouble is ask specific questions to try and bait unwilling combatants. LOL. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

To answer what I think you are asking, yes I think Dogball has the tools to be a good tout. Just because it's not my favorite line of work doesn't mean I hate all of them. I still like Jake, have always liked Prophetable Picks (Brian), Bob Oliver, Robert B. Irish and a few others. Even talk to some of them from time to time. So to answer I don't begrudge anyone from earning a quarter if they do it without cheating others and grossly misrepresenting themselves along the way.

So "my take" would be, yes I am a little disappointed but it's obviously not our call. He doesn't need our approval to do something he wants to do. I have had a couple of dealings with him and am very impressed overall with him. You can tell a lot about a man by his capacity to move on and not dwell on the past. Any two pinheads can carry a grudge forever but takes men to work things out. He showed me alot the way he handled himself in a situation where he and I didn't see eye to eye. A situation that I have long forgotten about but have benfitted greatly from since both of us were able to move on and forget it. Some folks can't ever forget and forgive. Big people can.

So yes he is going into something I'm not usually keen on but that's just my opinion. As you have noticed I haven't brought him up as I believe men have a right to earn a living. I may not like lawyers but I have a couple I call friends. If he starts in on some shady stuff than yes I may pipe in down the road but to chastise him for doing something I don't like would be foolish. I have no reason and certainly no wish to ever bash him in any way. To date he has shown to be a successful capper and even better guy to have around the forum. I wish him well.

Journey - just kidding above on the instigation stuff, thanks for wanting my opinion enough to ask. Peace.

I could see where it could be thought I was instigating...as I was the referee in your short but bitter mini spat with "dog"...

I know you guys have burried the hatchet, and I was hoping to get your honest take...which I did!

I`m not happy about it either, its really strange i never took advantage of "dog", and I knew he`d be leaving us someday soon...I will miss him, he`s an Rx anchor no doubt, its just funny one day your friends with a guy the next your not exactly on the same side of the fence, not that I`m not his friend, just its a little different...

I don`t like touts at all , thats why its a little more personal and somewhat painful to see..

In the end though i can`t blame him, his capping can`t get any better, he won a JOURNEY /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif, he`s on top of the world winning like gangbusters...

Just kinda makes me wince,lol...... /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
